Event Details

The Right Energy Partnership is a unique collaboration between indigenous peoples and other development actors to deliver energy access and support the development of appropriate, rights-based renewable energy, contributing to global climate action and SDG 7 on Energy. This panel discussion of the issues facing indigenous peoples around renewable energy and introduction to the Partnership will include contributions from: Vicky Tauli-Corpuz, UN Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples; Joan Carling, Co-Chair, Indigenous Peoples Major Group for Sustainable Development; and direct community experiences with renewable energy will be shared by indigenous representatives from Argentina, Guatemala, Kenya, Malaysia and the Navajo Nation.
